Communications must be handled coherently, globally and strategically

Company strategies do not always deliver anticipated results because strategies are stuck at the Board level. On the other hand, communication is much too often anchored at the tactical level. Laurence is an articulate Marketing and Communication Professional with 25+ years of experience and a real knack to define and implement comprehensive strategies that will build a company’s image, strengthen its position within the marketplace and drive its profits. With first class writing skills and experience in crafting engaging messages that resonate with specific target audience, Laurence has a proven talent for simplifying technical concepts, adapting the meaning for various levels of understanding.

Laurence Ponchaut graduated from Solvay Business School (Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium HEC-Montréal (Université de Montréal, Canada) and holds an MBA from INSEAD (France).

She started her career at 22 as an economic expert for the European Commission based in Africa (Rwanda and Benin) for about 4 years.

Laurence then joined the MBA Programme of INSEAD while working as a Research Associate in Production Operation Management at INSEAD.

After gaining her MBA, Ponchaut worked in consulting for Deloitte Consulting and PricewaterhouseCoopers. As a manager for PricewaterhouseCoopers, she was in charge of the business development of the Investment Fund industry across Europe-Middle East-Africa. She also acted as Head of Marketing and Internal Communication.

 

After working for 2 years in the Strategy department of Clearstream, Laurence Ponchaut joined Arcelor as Head of Corporate Media and Corporate Image. She then became Head of Corporate Reputation of ArcelorMittal (320.000 employees; 60 countries; 26th largest employer worldwide in 2007). In this position, she developed the brand positioning of ArcelorMittal, was in charge of all publications including financial ones, defined the company Induction Programme, organized the Group’s Top Executive Convention (Top 500) – both on the content side and the organization one –, etc.

Laurence is a lecturer in Marketing at Solvay Business School (Executive Education) and HEC Liège. Between 2006 and 2011, Ponchaut was the President of the INSEAD Alumni Association in Luxembourg, a top professional network of some 170 executives.

Laurence is a Director (Board Member) of the Association of Corporate Responsibility Professionals in Luxembourg.
